Supporting Nourish Cowichan: A Partnership Close to Our Hearts

At Duncan Garage Café & Bakery, community is at the core of everything we do. This December, we’re thrilled to announce a special fundraiser: we’re donating $1 from every breakfast sold to Nourish Cowichan, an organization that embodies the values we hold. 

We would like to celebrate a partnership built on shared goals and a long-standing commitment to ensuring no child in our community goes hungry.

The Inspiring Work of Nourish Cowichan

Nourish Cowichan began in 2016, operating out of a small restaurant in Glenora with the goal of feeding kids in one local school. From those modest beginnings, they’ve grown into a vital program that now supports over 1,800 children across 23 schools in the Cowichan Valley with future expansion goals! 

Their mission is simple yet powerful: provide healthy, nourishing food to children in need, without stigma or barriers. Their open-door policy ensures that any child who needs a meal at school can get one, creating a more inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Nourish relies heavily on community donations and fundraisers highlighting just how essential ongoing community support is for their success.

Why This Partnership Matters

For the past seven years, Matt and Brennan have been deeply involved with Nourish Cowichan, volunteering in the kitchen and delivering food to schools. They’ve witnessed the difference Nourish makes in the lives of local children and the ripple effect it creates in the community. The incredible team behind Nourish Cowichan are some of the kindest and most dedicated individuals you'll ever meet! 

The partnership between Duncan Garage Café & Bakery and Nourish Cowichan goes beyond fundraising. The café proudly uses fresh produce from the Nourish Garden, bringing even more meaning to the meals served here. If you had a salad from the Garage in the summer, you probably had some greens from the Nourish garden! Yum! 

December Fundraiser: Every Breakfast Counts

This December, every breakfast purchased at Duncan Garage, contributes to Nourish Cowichan’s mission. With $1 from every breakfast going directly to support the program, customers are helping to provide healthy meals to children in the Cowichan Valley.

The Garage breakfast menu is served Monday-Saturday 8AM-11AM and Sundays 8AM-2PM.
